Procurement
Overview
The NWMO spends a significant portion of our annual budget to acquire goods and services. A quality procurement process enables us to receive value for money, while ensuring suppliers are treated fairly and ethically.
It is our practice to acquire goods and services that result in supply arrangements at the most effective net cost, in the correct quantities, of the appropriate quality, and from the most responsive and reliable source. As part of our procurement process, we seek to maximize our use of local capable suppliers from municipalities and First Nation and Métis communities in areas where we operate.
For many of our procurement needs, the NWMO uses an online portal, Biddingo.com®, to co-ordinate the procurement process and to allow suppliers to view and bid on opportunities. Many NWMO requests for proposal (RFPs) are posted on the electronic tendering board at biddingo.com/nwmo. We may also use local advertisements and direct solicitations to reach out to local suppliers in municipalities and First Nation and Métis communities.
Suppliers must be registered on biddingo.com to download original RFP documents and receive notification of addenda by email.
If you have an interest in providing your products or services to the NWMO and have not registered with Biddingo, you can now register at no cost. This provides the NWMO with a broader awareness of potentially interested companies that may participate in upcoming procurement needs, and their respective product and service categories. However, this does not constitute a commitment by the NWMO to award or engage with your company.
Once registered, suppliers will have access to download all NWMO-posted Biddingo bid documents at no additional cost. Suppliers who purchase an annual Biddingo subscription can download unlimited RFP documents from any buying organization registered on the platform.
